The Electric Brew, located at 118 E. Washington St. and owned by Myron and Dana Bontrager, has been named the Indiana Main Street Business of the Year by the state Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). Development, marketing and advocacy group Downtown Goshen Inc. (DGI) nominated The Brew for the award.

The Bontragers were honored by during a ceremony at the statehouse Monday, December 7.

Indiana’s Main Street program is designed to encourage the revitalization and restoration of downtown areas in the state’s cities and towns. According to OCRA, the Indiana Main Street Business of the Year award is given to the owners and employees of a Main Street business “who have led their community’s revitalization efforts through such activities as innovative business or marketing strategies and/or leadership of a downtown business organization.”
